Maternity & Newborn Portraits

As a portrait photographer I truly love all of the genres that I photograph, however, maternity & mom and baby sessions have a special place in my heart. Especially after having my own son. ❤️ Perhaps it's because having children makes us acutely aware of the speed of the passage of time or perhaps it's because we also realize how unreliable our memories are when it comes to the faces of our small children. Time goes by and our memories fade with every day.

They always say to write down the cute and sweet things that our children do and say because we will never remember them in the long term even though we say "that was so sweet, I could never forget that." We still forget. I see my portraits as those things we should write down. That short season of being pregnant and that first year fly by in such a blur of getting it all ready and exhaustion and diapers and feedings and all the stuff. It's the greatest gift to be able to look back at a moment of stillness during that time and at your beautiful portraits of your incredible body that is growing a life that you will forever be attached to. It's a gift to be able to see that little face that will forever have your heart.

A portrait picks up where your memory leaves off so if you are ever in Bozeman and are somewhere in the those first few years of life I would be honored to be able to give you the gift of a beautiful maternity and then newborn portrait.
